Health & Safety Regulatory Compliance
Case Studies
Modern risk-based, goal-setting health and safety legislation has become increasing complicated since the introduction of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. There are now in the region of 200 health and safety related regulations in the UK, many originating from the European Union in the form of Directives or Regulations. There are also approved codes of practice and other regulatory documents supporting this legislation, with which Duty Holders are advised to comply. Health and Safety legislation is constantly changing and will continue to do so. It can be a real challenge to keep on top of developments in this field!
What is the benefit?
It is of course vitally important that all businesses are aware of and comply with all applicable legislation to ensure their employees and other people affected by their operations remain safe and healthy. Enforcement action caused by non-compliance is likely to be costly from both financial and reputational perspectives.
Why CRA?
Modern health and safety legislation generally specifies the objective that must be achieved but does not explain how to reach it. CRA’s experienced and knowledgeable consultants can help to identify all relevant legislation, together with practical and effective technical and procedural measures that will ensure full compliance, while at the same time avoiding over complicated and expensive solutions that are disproportionate to the risk being addressed.
CRA provides a full service approach to health and safety compliance, from initial gap analyses through to health and safety compliance audits, the production of registers of applicable health and safety legislation, and advice on appropriate safe systems of work and risk management techniques.
