Transport & Distribution

The Transport and Distribution sector faces diverse and increasing environmental challenges. These can range from land development issues to the implications of the Carbon Reduction Commitment.

The construction, modification or demolition of facilities and infrastructure may require planning approval and the submission of complex environmental statements. Their operation may also be subject to the Environmental Permitting and COMAH regimes. Investors and corporate customers, for example from the retail sector, have increasing expectations for the development and operation of sustainable and low carbon facilities and infrastructure systems. There is an increasing expectation that operators in the sector will monitor, manage and report on their own sustainability performance and potentially have their findings independently validated.
